The Rangers have announced that pitcher Yu Darvish will make his next start on Friday, April 19, in Arlington against the Seattle Mariners.
Darvish's normal spot in the rotation would have come up on Thursday in Chicago against the Cubs, although with an off day on Monday, there was some discussion about possibly moving everyone up a spot to skip Justin Grimm's spot in the rotation. That would have resulted in Darvish starting on Wednesday.
Instead, Darvish won't start at all in Chicago, with the team apparently concerned about Darvish pitching in the cold weather and not wanting him to have to hit and potentially run the bases.
