Nick Tepesch was solid again. Solid enough to get a win. I think the Ranger scouts and decision makers should be commended for thinking Tepesch was ready to contribute because he's been everything you could hope for from a No. 5 starter so far.

But the bats never got anything going against some Mariner pitchers who have been suspect at best and the defense failed in the deciding two-run sixth inning for the Mariners.
