Leesman rejects Ranger assignment, becomes a free agent

The Rangers have announced that lefthanded pitcher Charlie Leesman, who was claimed on waivers by the Texas Rangers from the Chicago White Sox, will not be joining the Rangers.

Because Leesman was put on release waivers, he had the option of declining his assignment to the Rangers and instead becoming a free agent. As a result, Leesman is now a free agent.
