Saturday morning Rangers news and links

Rick Yeatts

Yesterday was not the most thrilling of games for the Rangers. And Oakland beat Seattle Kansas City, meaning Oakland is in second place, 6.5 games back of Texas now.

Jeff Wilson writes in his game story that Nick Tepesch, who allowed 2 runs in 5 innings, did his job, as did the relief corps, but the offense simply couldn't get runs across yesterday.

Anthony Andro's game story talks about how the Rangers just couldn't get hits with runners in scoring position yesterday.

T.R. Sullivan's game story hits on those same issues...a solid outing by Tepesch, and a failure by the Rangers to convert runners in scoring position into runs.

Todd Wills has his Rapid Reaction at the ESPN Dallas blog.

Evan Grant puts the blame for yesterday's loss on Nelson Cruz, who had two critical GIDPs yesterday.

Alexi Ogando, who was put on the disabled list with biceps tendinitis, had an MRI yesterday that showed no structural damage.

Richard Justice has a column talking about Nolan Ryan and Reid Ryan.

The S-T's notes has quotes from Ron Washington and Jon Daniels about Yu Darvish throwing 130 pitches on Thursday, Ian Kinsler starting yesterday on the bench with bruised ribs, and injury updates on various disabled Rangers.

Sullivan's notes talk about Colby Lewis making a rehab start on Monday, Kinsler sitting yesterday, Ogando, and seeing King Felix next week.
