The Rangers' lineup for Game 1 of today's doubleheader is up, and with lefty Tyler Skaggs going for the Diamondbacks, the Rangers have loaded up their lineup with righthanded hitters.
Jeff Baker is playing left field, Geovany Soto is catching, and Craig Gentry is playing centerfield today, with the three hitting 6-7-8 in today's lineup.
Jurickson Profar is getting the start at second base, and is hitting second, behind Elvis Andrus.
With the National League rules in place because we're playing in Arizona, Martin Perez, today's starting pitcher, is hitting 9th. The Rangers have A.J. Pierzynski, Leonys Martin, David Murphy, Leury Garcia and Lance Berkman available off the bench to pinch hit.
There was some talk that Berkman might play in the field for one of today's two games, but given that he's on the bench with the lefty Skaggs on the mound, while Mitch Moreland is playing first base, that certainly suggests that Berkman will be sitting both games.
UPDATE -- Berkman is apparently starting Game 2 against the RHP, with Moreland starting Game 1, because Moreland specifically asked to start against the lefty.
