Friday morning Rangers news and links

Rick Yeatts

Good morning, everyone. That was a nice little matinee victory yesterday for your Texas Rangers.

Jeff Wilson's game story talks about how the Rangers, yesterday afternoon, picked up their first win since Saturday by beating up on Arizona starter Brandon McCarthy.

T.R. Sullivan's game story focuses on the Ranger offense doing some damage after struggling earlier in the week.

Anthony Andro's game story talks about how the Rangers jumped on Arizona early and never looked back.

Todd Wills has his Rapid Reaction at the ESPN Dallas blog.

Evan Grant writes about yesterday's starter, Justin Grimm, being fearless.

Randy Galloway writes that the Rangers need to trade Jurickson Profar. He doesn't really care who they trade Profar for, and makes no definitive suggestion, but he says the Rangers need to trade Profar to try to win now, because they traded Chris Davis and he's now a Triple Crown threat. Yeah, it doesn't make much more sense in the actual column than it does in my summary.

Evan Grant thinks Michael Kirkman's time in the majors this season may be coming to an end.

The S-T's notes talk about the field crew battling winds on Wednesday, the bullpen getting extra rest, Robbie Ross having a 0.37 ERA, and Alexi Ogando and Mike Olt playing for Frisco today.

Sullivan's notes hit on the grounds crew, the bullpen, Derek Holland avoiding the gopher balls, and Alexi Ogando's rehab stint.
