The Rangers finally won a game in which they led throughout. With this series win, the Rangers are back in sole possession of first place in the American League West.

Player of the Game: Derek Holland was fantastic while collecting the Rangers' first complete game and first complete game shutout of the season. Additionally, he allowed only two hits, walked two, and struck out seven Yankees all in only 92 pitches to give the over-worked bullpen a day off.
