Per the beat reporters on Twitter, the Rangers have placed Alexi Ogando on the 15 day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation, and are recalling Josh Lindblom to take his place on the active roster.
Ogando had just been brought back from the disabled list on Wednesday, and made his start on that day, which means that he would be eligible to return from the disabled list again on June 21 at the earliest.
Lindblom came to Texas with Lisalverto Bonilla as part of the Michael Young trade. He made a spot start last month and allowed four runs in 4.2 innings in a 9-2 loss to the Oakland A's. Lindblom will start for the Rangers on Monday against the Cleveland Indians.
Ogando's returning to the disabled list is going to raise questions about whether he's suited for the rotation. The Rangers committed to returning Ogando to the rotation this year in the offseason, but two d.l. stints may have them wondering if he can handle the workload.
