Per the beat reporters, Rangers' reliever Tanner Scheppers was unavailable last night after being assaulted by a gang of ruffians Thursday night.

Scheppers was reportedly a couple of blocks from the team hotel and getting food when he was confronted by a gang of toughs, one of whom punched him in the eye before they ran off.
Scheppers had a black eye and a headache as a result of the assault.
