Friday morning Rangers news and links

Rick Yeatts

Morning, everybody.

Drew Davison has a column on new addition Alex Rios which talks about his solid start with the Rangers, and addresses the talk that he doesn't play hard and doesn't hustle, with quotes from A.J. Pierzynski defending him.

Matt Yallof has a piece on Derek Holland that includes, among other things, Holland talking about his relationship with Nick Tepesch (who lives with Holland) and with Ron Washington.

Matt Garza says he doesn't care if teams try to bunt on him, like the Brewers did six times on Wednesday.

There was no news yesterday on starting pitcher Alexi Ogando, who is dealing with shoulder issues, but the Rangers expect to have an update today.

Todd Wills writes that the Rangers' magic number is 4 -- they have won their last 12 games when scoring at least 4 runs, and Jon Daniels says that if they score 4 runs per game, they should be in position to win every game.

Finally, since it is a slow news day and there are so few links, I'll borrow a page from Ben and suggest you read about Operation Entebbe -- after an Air France plane was hijacked in 1976 and flown to Uganda, Israeli commandos pulled off a plan where they flew cargo planes to Uganda, rescued the hostages, killed the hijackers, and got out again, much to the dismay of Ugandan dictator Idi Amin.  I'd never even heard of it before yesterday.  Amazing story.
