Look, the Rangers are now 2-0 when Travis Blackley starts a game for them. The Rangers are 0-2 the last two times that Yu Darvish has taken the mound. Sure, the Rangers have scored 12 runs in those games started by Blackley and only 5 runs in those games started by Darvish, but the stats speak for themselves.
Player of the Game: There's plenty to choose from tonight. Blackley put together a quality start. Birthday boy Elvis Andrus went 3-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Mitch Moreland blasted off. Alex Rios had a big two-out two-run RBI single in the top of the 1st.
But maybe the biggest hit of the game came when A.J. Pierzynski hit a three-run home run in the 7th after the Mariners had intentionally walked Adrian Beltre for the second time on the night. At the time, the Rangers were up by only one run. After A.J.'s 15th dong of the season, the Rangers held a comfortable four run lead.
