As I think everyone is aware, Josh Hamilton is having a really, really awful season in 2013, the first year of his 5 year, $125M deal he signed with the Anaheim Angels this offseason.
Jayson Stark has an in-depth piece, with quotes from executives and scouts, about Hamilton's struggles, focusing primarily on what appears to be a loss of strength (which, some think, relates him losing a lot of weight in the offseason), as well as not having the same sort of support system in Anaheim as he had in Texas.
Some really interesting stuff here, especially talking about the way Ron Washington handled Hamilton emotionally, in contrast to Mike Scioscia. Check it out.
