Adam Rosales claimed on waivers by the A's

Adam, we hardly knew ye

USA TODAY Sports

On August 2, 2013, Adam Rosales was claimed on waivers from the Oakland A's by the Texas Rangers.

Rosales was on the active roster for three games against the A's, never played, and then was designated for assignment by Texas.

Today, it has been announced that Rosales was claimed on waivers by the A's.

Rosales was designated for assignment by the A's to make room on the active roster for Alberto Callaspo, acquired by Oakland from the Anaheim Angels in exchange for minor league infielder Grant Green.

Callaspo, however, was shaken up on a play yesterday that required him to leave the game, and the A's thus apparently decided they needed another infielder.  Hence, the return of Rosales.
