The Rangers handled their business against the Astros. Unfortunately, neither the Rays nor Indians seem to want to cooperate with the Rangers' postseason plans. While Texas has won three straight games for the first time since Aug. 26-28, Tampa Bay and Cleveland have combined to go 12-0 in their last twelve games.

With a regular season finale series against the Angels left on the 2013 schedule, the Rangers remain a game back of Cleveland in the Wild Card standings.

Player(s) of the Game: With the Rangers trailing the Astros 3-1 heading into the bottom of the 4th, Leonys Martin had one of the biggest hits of the season when he laced a two-out, bases clearing three-run double to the wall in right field. Before the inning ended, the Rangers had tacked on three more runs to take a 6-3 lead.

Martin Perez tossed seven innings of three run ball with eight strikeouts. Perez's regular season likely concludes as the third Ranger starter to reach 10 wins this season.
