Two Ranger prospects make Northwest League top 20

The Rangers placed two prospects in the Baseball America top 20 list for the Northwest League

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Baseball America has their top 20 prospect list out for the Northwest League, and two Rangers made the cut.

Kelvin Vasquez, a tall, lanky 20 year old righthander out of the Dominican Republic, came in at #6 on the list, impressing observers with his low-90s fastball and three pitch mix.

Also making the cut was the Rangers' 2013 3rd round draft pick, righty pitcher David Ledbetter, a 5'11" righty who made the list at #11.

The "Five Years Ago" list from the NWL is interesting to look at, because the Rangers had several guys pop up on there...Martin Perez and Neil Ramirez were #2 and #4, respectively, while Wilfredo Boscan, Tim Murphy, and Matt West (as a third baseman) were also among those who were listed.
