As I race to get the morning links post up before the Game Day Thread goes up...
Tampa lost, Cleveland won, and Texas won, which means Cleveland and Tampa are tied for the two Wild Card spots and Texas is a game back.
Jeff Wilson's game story talks about the possibility of a three way tie for the Wild Card and what has to happen for that to come about.
T.R. Sullivan's game story praises Alex Rios for leading the charge last night in keeping the Rangers in the tightest playoff race they've ever been in.
Todd Wills has his Rapid Reaction at the ESPN Dallas blog.
Evan Grant has a story about yesterday's victory which includes this fun quote from Joe Nathan:
“I think everybody in here collectively enjoys beating him,” said Rangers closer Joe Nathan, who picked up his 42nd save. “Guys definitely step it up against him. They want to beat him.”
The "him" of course being C.J. Wilson. Nathan also responds to Wilson's comments about the bullpen being the Rangers' problem down the stretch.
Anthony Andro has a story about C.J. Wilson complaining about slippery baseballs.
Wills writes that you can't question the Rangers' fight in the final week.
Drew Davison has a story on Derek Holland having to step up this season when Matt Harrison went down with an injury.
Sullivan's notes have quotes from Ron Washington where he says that he thinks Toronto (who plays Tampa this weekend) and Minnesota (playing Cleveland) will compete rather than roll over, Jurickson Profar's walkoff homer making history, and Craig Gentry playing every day.
