Nelson Cruz, whose 50 game suspension ended upon the completion of today's game between the Rangers and the Angels, will be active for tomorrow's Game 163.
The beat writers are tweeting that Jon Daniels has said that the decision about whether to start Cruz will be left up to Ron Washington. However, with lefthander David Price starting for the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Rangers not having a real strong lineup against lefthanded pitchers, you'd have to think it is likely that Cruz will start.
There are a couple of different options Ron Washington has, in terms of getting Cruz into the lineup. He could put Cruz at DH, with A.J. Pierzynski replacing Geovany Soto at catcher. Alternatively, if he wants to keep Soto (who has been hitting well) in the lineup against the lefty, and to work with rookie Martin Perez, he could keep Pierzynski at DH, and have Alex Rios and Cruz in the outfield corner, with Craig Gentry replacing Leonys Martin in left field.
