Luis Sardinas prospect ranking: MLB.com ranks Sardinas the 9th best shortstop prospect

Texas Rangers shortstop prospect Luis Sardinas is the 9th best shortstop prospect in the baseball, according to MLB.com.

Sardinas is considered one of the Rangers' top prospect, and came in at #6 on the LSB Community Prospect Rankings, while Jason Parks has Sardinas at #4 in the Ranger system.

Sardinas has a similar profile to incumbent Ranger shortstop Elvis Andrus -- he's a slick fielder with a strong arm who is fast, but doesn't project to hit for power.  Sardinas will likely start the season in AA Frisco, and could be knocking on the door by next season.
