Engel Beltre's winter league team, Licey, asked him to stick around for the playoffs because the team is short on outfielders, so Beltre is still playing winter ball.

And finally, Kevin Goldstein has been promoted by the Houston Astros to "Director of Professional Scouting."  Goldstein, of course, was at Baseball Prospectus for a number of years, and was a regular at the Newberg Nights at TBiA before he joined the Astros.
