Its funny, but in the leadup to the 2010 playoffs, there was actual debate about who should be the #3 starter for the Rangers in the playoffs, behind Cliff Lee and C.J. Wilson. Some writers argued that Tommy Hunter, not Colby Lewis, should be the team's #3 starter, primarily on the strength of Hunter's superior won-loss record.
Lewis, however, got the nod, and ended up being great in the playoffs. While we all remember Neftali Feliz's strikeout of Alex Rodriguez to end Game 6 of the 2010 ALCS and clinch the berth to the World Series, Colby Lewis pitched the first eight innings of that game, and pitched great, giving up a single run to the Yankees:
I'm still bitter about Colby Lewis's 2012 season being cut short due to his tendon flexor injury. I will go to my grave believing that, if Colby is healthy in 2012, the Rangers win the division, and are the favorites to go to their third straight World Series.
