Texas Rangers rumors: Dave Magadan reportedly staying in Texas

Texas Rangers rumors:  Dave Magadan is staying with the Rangers, according to A's beat writer Susan Slusser on Twitter:

Cross Dave Magadan off the #Athletics' hitting coach list, he says he is sticking with #Rangers.

Magadan is under contract for next year, but had been allowed to talk to other teams about their hitting coach jobs because of the uncertain situation in Texas.  If Slusser is correct, however, Magadan isn't going anywhere, and will be the hitting coach for Texas in 2015.

There will be some complaining from some fans about Magadan not getting the axe, but my view has always been that there is little reason to believe Magadan is a problem, or needs to be fired.  So if he is staying with the Rangers, that is fine with me.
