Texas Rangers prospects:  The Carolina League top 20 list release by Baseball America today is dominated by Rangers prospects, with Texas having the top two players on the list, and eight of twenty overall.

Third baseman Joey Gallo and catcher Jorge Alfaro lead off the list, placing #1 and #2, respectively, on the Carolina League top 20 list.  Behind them were righthanded pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez, the Rangers' first round pick from 2013, who was ranked #10 overall, followed by outfielder Nick Williams, who was ranked #11.

Outfielder Lewis Brinson, the Rangers' first selection in the 2012 draft, checks in at #15, despite just putting up a .246/.307/.350 line at Myrtle Beach after his promotion from Hickory.  Lefthanded hurler Andrew Faulkner is ranked #17 after putting up a 2.07 ERA in 104 innings for Myrtle Beach.

Rounding out the group at #19 and #20 are relief prospects Jose Leclerc, a hard throwing righthander who is seen as a potential setup man or closer, and lefty changeup specialist Alex Claudio.

This is quite the showing for an impressive group of prospects for the Pelicans.
