Saturday morning Rangers news and links

Rick Yeatts

Everyone have a good Halloween last night?  Everyone ready for the run up to the winter holiday season now?

The big news yesterday from the Rangers was the announcement of the coaching staff (except for the third base coach).  T.R. Sullivan has a rundown of the coaching staff situation, with Jayce Tingler being described as an "extra set of eyes" as major league field coordinator, a newly created position.  Tingler is also going to handle outfield defense and baserunning instructions, something that Gary Pettis handled last year.

Evan Grant has a piece on the coaching staff, talking about why Banister stayed inside the organization for the coaches.

Anthony Andro has a story on the coaching staff that includes quotes from Mike Maddux, Steve Buechele, and Jeff Banister.

Jeff Wilson has a story on the coaching staff announcement, and on Colby Lewis testing the free agent market.

Sullivan has a piece on the Rangers' needs this offseason, some potential targets, and some players the Rangers would be willing to part with in a trade.

Watkins has a story on Elvis Andrus, who has lost weight, and says the last season was the season where he learned the most about himself.

And the DMN goes through the best photos from the 2014 season.
