Poll: Should the Rangers have traded for Jeremy Hellickson?

The Rays traded Jeremy Hellickson to Arizona for a pair of prospects. Should the Rangers have trumped that deal?

Jared Wickerham

The Tampa Bay Rays just traded righty starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson to the Arizona Diamondbacks for 19 year old outfielder Justin Williams and 20 year old shortstop Andrew Velazquez.  Velazquez spent the 2014 season in the Midwest League, and Williams split the year between the Pioneer League and the Midwest League.

Minor League Ball has a writeup on the deal, with a focus on the prospects, here.  The Rangers don't have any real clear comps I can come up with for these two players, but I think a similar package from Texas would have been 2013 supplemental first rounder Travis Demeritte and 17 year old wunderkind shortstop Michael DeLeon.

So I ask you...if the Rangers could have landed Hellickson for Demeritte and DeLeon, would you have wanted the Rangers to make that deal?  Cast your vote below...
