Nelson Cruz to Seattle Mariners, per report from the D.R.

El Caribe out of the Dominican Republic says that the Mariners and Nelson Cruz have agreed on a 4 year, $57 million deal

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Nelson Cruz is a Seattle Mariner, agreeing to a four year, $57 million deal with the M's, according to a report from El Caribe in the Dominican Republic.

If you don't want to read the Spanish version, you can check out this summary from Hardball Talk.

That's a lot of money to pay Cruz, who is going to a park which is notoriously hard on righthanded power hitters.  It also remains to be seen whether Cruz is going to be in the outfield or at DH.

Cruz rejected a qualifying offer from the Rangers last year, saw his market dry up, and ended up signing a one year deal with the Baltimore Orioles.  After a terrific 2014 season, he rejected the qualifying offer once again, and has now been rewarded with a big payday.

I have always been a fan of Nelson Cruz, and I'm glad he's getting paid, although I'm disappointed he's going to Seattle, which means I'll have to root against him.
