Howie Kendrick traded to Dodgers, per report

The Angels have reportedly traded second baseman Howie Kendrick to the Dodgers

Second baseman Howie Kendrick has been traded from the Angels to the Dodgers for pitcher Andrew Heaney, per multiple reports on Twitter.

The Angels had reportedly been shopping Kendrick, a free agent after the 2015 season, in an effort to improve their rotation depth.  Heaney, who had just been acquired from the Marlins by the Dodgers in the Dee Gordon trade, is a 23 year old lefthander who will presumably be, at the very least, in the mix for a spot in the Angel rotation for 2015.  Heaney was the #30 prospect in baseball heading into the 2014 season in both the BA and BP rankings, and was #29 in the MLB.com rankings.  The Rangers were reportedly talking to the Marlins about Heaney before he was sent to the Dodgers.

Kendrick pairs with Jimmy Rollins, also acquired today, to give the Dodgers a whole new veteran double play combination.  And the Dodgers are also supposedly close on a four year deal with free agent pitcher Brandon McCarthy, who would be their #4 starter.
