Happy Saturday, everybody. Big plans for the weekend? Done your Christmas shopping yet?
The Ross Detwiler trade was made official yesterday, with Jon Daniels saying that they are planning on using Detwiler as a starter.
Jeff Wilson writes that Detwiler, a lefty who gets a lot of ground balls, should benefit from having Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre behind him.
Daniels says that, even with the addition of Detwiler, the team is still in the market for starting pitching.
Detwiler says he's looking forward to getting a fresh start in Texas, and getting the opportunity to be a starting pitcher again, after pitching in relief in 2014.
The Rangers are also apparently close to signing free agent reliever Kyuji Fujikawa to a one year deal with an option. Fujikawa was a stellar reliever in Japan, but missed most of the 2013-14 seasons here in the states after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
Michael Florek lays out the top 5 third basemen in Rangers history.
Jose Leclerc, one of the Rangers' bevy of intriguing relief prospects, hasn't allowed a run so far in the Dominican Republic winter league.
