Kemp to San Diego, Rollins to Los Angeles trades reportedly done

Multiple reports indicate that the much-delayed trades involving Matt Kemp and Jimmy Rollins are now done

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The trade sending Matt Kemp to San Diego is apparently going through after all, according to multiple reports on Twitter, which means that the deal sending Jimmy Rollins to the Dodgers is also happening now.

There had been an agreement in place to send Kemp to the Padres, along with a good chunk of cash, in exchange for Yasmani Grandl, Joe Wieland and Zach Eflin.  Reports today indicated that a physical on Kemp revealed he had arthritic hips, and there was a sense that the Padres were looking to get the Dodgers to sweeten the deal to push it through.  That apparently didn't happen, though, with the Dodgers holding firm, and San Diego apparently decided the arthritic hips weren't enough to warrant blowing up the deal.

Eflin will now be shipped by the Dodgers in a separate deal to bring Jimmy Rollins to Los Angeles, where he will team up with Howie Kendrick to provide LAD with a new double play combination for 2015.
