Good morning, everyone...
A Rangers source says the team is not the high bidder for Korean shortstop Jung-Ho Kang, who was posted, and who received a high bid of $5 million.
Gerry Fraley has a story on Jeff Banister's primary influences in the baseball world, with Clint Hurdle being first, and former Pirates manager Chuck Tanner, who took Banister under his wing and mentored him prior to Tanner's death in 2011, a close second.
As mentioned in a post last night, Ben Rowen has been placed on release waivers, rather than outright waivers.
Kyler Murray, senior QB for Allen High School and a Texas A&M football commit, led Allen to its third straight state championship. I mention this primarily because Murray, the son of former A&M QB Kevin Murray, is also a well-regarded baseball player who I could see the Rangers grabbing, and trying to moneywhip into foregoing his commitment to A&M, in the June draft.
That's all I've got for right now. However, I'm headed to Fort Worth tomorrow afternoon, so expect a big trade to be announced around 4 p.m. tomorrow.
