Bronson Arroyo to the Arizona Diamondbacks: Per Ken Rosenthal, free agent pitcher Bronson Arroyo has agreed to a deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Arroyo, he of the long, flowing locks, has a two year deal with an option. At age 37, I felt Arroyo would be someone who would make sense for the Rangers on a one-year deal, but he was clearly (and understandably) seeking something longer term than that. And the Diamondbacks, who have been in the market for starting pitching this winter, were willing to meet that demand.
I will update with the financial terms once that info is available.
UPDATE -- Per Buster Olney, Arroyo makes $9.5 million in 2014, $9.5 million in 2015, and there is an $11 million club option for 2016 that includes a $4.5 million buyout.
