Jarrod Parker and A.J. Griffin, anticipated to be Oakland's #1 and #4 starters this season, are expected to miss the start of the season, according to Susan Slusser.

Parker is dealing with forearm soreness, and is scheduled to see Dr. James Andrews, while Griffin was scheduled to get an MRI on his elbow on Friday.

The injuries have Oakland apparently going with Sonny Gray, Scott Kazmir and Dan Straily as the top three in their rotation, with Tommy Milone as the #4 starter.  Former Ranger prospect Jesse Chavez, who was traded to the Pirates for Kip Wells in 2006, and who has bounced around in multiple organizations since then, appears likely to claim the #5 spot.
