T.R. Sullivan has a new Inbox column up at the Rangers website...
Questions about Tanner Scheppers in the rotation (with Sullivan saying the Rangers view him as a potential rotation piece like they did Neftali Feliz a couple of years ago, though he says Scheppers is approaching the opportunity with more "conviction"), Joe Saunders in the rotation, Tommy Hanson in the rotation, Armando Galarraga in the rotation, and, just to change things up, a question about why Luke Jackson didn't get a major league invite.
Sullivan also had this to say, in answer to a question about Robinson Chirinos and J.P. Arencibia:
The Tampa Bay Rays spend all winter putting together their team and then stick with the plan in Spring Training. They don't let themselves get sidetracked by somebody getting hot for a week or two or somebody going into a spring slump.
Which is one of the things I've found vexing about this regime...they tend to get too excited over a couple of hot weeks in March...
Sullivan also has a question Nelson Cruz, with the inquiring individual complaining about the Rangers getting shafted by the Orioles signing Cruz, meaning the Rangers get a second round pick instead of a first round pick. Since Sullivan doesn't correct the questioner, I'll point out that this is incorrect...the Rangers get a sandwich pick as compensation, regardless of who signed Cruz. The Orioles losing a second round pick doesn't impact what Texas gets.
