Lefthanded pitcher Michael Kirkman, designated for assignment last week by the Texas Rangers, has cleared waivers and been outrighted to AAA Round Rock.
Per T.R. Sullivan, who is linked above, Kirkman will pitch out of the rotation for the Express.
Kirkman was out of options, and there was some talk that the Rangers might keep him on the 25 man roster rather than risk losing him. However, after a disastrous spring, the Rangers deciding to bite the bullet and put him on waivers. Since he wasn't claimed, the Rangers can keep him in AAA Round Rock this season. Kirkman will be a free agent at season's end, unless the Rangers add him to the 40 man roster before the offseason.
