The Texas Rangers have re-signed catcher Chris Gimenez, according to a variety of beat reporter type folks on Twitter.
Gimenez, 31, was claimed on waivers by the Rangers from the A's on March 28 of this year. He was then designated for assignment after Opening Day, cleared waivers, and rejected an outright assignment, making him a free agent.
The Rangers will still interested in him, however, and apparently were successful in getting him to stay with (or come back to) the organization. Gimenez will, I suspect, be at AAA Round Rock as depth/insurance.
