Shin-Soo Choo, who left yesterday's game after twisting his ankle trying to beat out an infield single, does not have a high ankle sprain, and thus isn't going to be put on the disabled list as of now.
If Choo had been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, he almost certainly would have been put on the d.l., as that is an injury that has a recovery time of weeks, not days. As it is, per Evan Grant (in the link above), the Rangers are going to keep him out of the lineup today and tomorrow, and then re-evaluate him on Thursday, an off day.
Choo could still end up going on the d.l., if he is not showing progress in the next few days, but at least for now, the Rangers are going to effectively go with a 3 man bench while waiting to see how quickly Choo feels better.
