Righthanded pitcher Hector Noesi, who was designated for assignment earlier this week so that the Rangers could add Nick Martinez to the 25 man roster, has been claimed on waivers by the Chicago White Sox.

The Rangers had purchased Noesi from the Seattle Mariners on April 12, 2014.  He allowed 7 runs over 5.1 innings in three games with the Rangers.

The speculation was that the Rangers were going to try to run Noesi through waivers soon after they purchased him, in the hopes that he would clear and could be outrighted.  The ChiSox foiled that plan, however.  For their troubles, Chicago now has a 27 year old pitcher with a 5.81 ERA.
