Texas Rangers transactions: Nick Martinez up, Daniel McCutchen down, Chris Gimenez is a free agent

Texas Rangers transactions: Righthander Nick Martinez has had his contract purchased by the Texas Rangers, adding him to the 25 and 40 man rosters for tonight's start against the Devil Rays.  To make room for Martinez on the 25 man roster, Daniel McCutchen has been optioned to AA Frisco.

Because the Rangers' 40 man roster was at 39, no move was needed to make a spot for Martinez on the 40 man roster.

Martinez is expected to be optioned back to AA Frisco after tonight's game, with Yu Darvish being activated from the disabled list.

In other transaction news, catcher Chris Gimenez rejected his outright assignment to AAA Round Rock and has become a free agent.  Gimenez was on the Opening Day roster, but was designated for assignment earlier this week.
