Texas Rangers rumors:  Joe Saunders, the lefthanded pitcher signed by the Texas Rangers to provide them with starting pitching depth, will start for the Rangers on Wednesday, with Scott Baker returning to the bullpen in a long man role, according to Ken Rosenthal on Twitter.

Saunders made only one start for the Rangers before landing on the disabled list with a bad ankle, an injury suffered when he took a hard hit ball off his ankle in that one start.

Saunders has a career 4.31 ERA and a career 97 ERA+, with a 4.59 FIP.  He put up a 5.26 ERA in 183 innings last year for the Seattle Mariners.

With Matt Harrison and Martin Perez both gone for the year, and Derek Holland on the disabled list, the Rangers need someone to soak up some innings in the rotation, and it appears they've decided to give Saunders a look for the time being.

UPDATE -- Wash says Saunders will be the starter on Wednesday...
