The Texas Rangers have placed Mitch Moreland on the 15 day disabled list. To replace him on the 25 man roster, the Rangers have purchased the contract of outfielder Brad Snyder from AAA Round Rock. To make room for him on the 40 man roster for Snyder, the Rangers have transferred Matt Harrison to the 60 day d.l.
Snyder is apparently going to get an opportunity to be the Rangers' interim first baseman, though his experience at first base consists of two games he's played there, both this season, this past Sunday and Monday.
Snyder has a .284/.350/.573 line this season for Round Rock, though with an alarming 82 strikeouts in 260 plate appearances.
