Friday a.m. Rangers things

Friday morning Rangers news and links

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, everyone.

The Rangers start a nine game road trip against the West Coast A.L. West opponents today, and Ron Washington says the team will play well on this trip.

Drew Davison describes this road trip as "pivotal," and notes that after their last division game, the next day, the Rangers put Prince Fielder on the d.l. and announced he and Jurickson Profar were likely done for the year.

Evan Grant identifies six things the Rangers need to do going forward in 2014.

Richard Durrett has a blog post with quotes from Jon Daniels about the injuries that have afflicted the team this year.

Over at the official Rangers' website, there's a story about newly promoted Joey Gallo and Chi Chi Gonzalez getting off to a strong start at AA.  And that was before Gallo went 2 for 3 with a walk and a homer last night.

Rougned Odor is "living the dream" right now.

T.R. Sullivan has a story about Robbie Ross and his dad, a former minor league catcher.

Evan Grant got an angry email about Jon Daniels, and responds.

Chuck Morgan has invoked the A/C going out in San Antonio to discourage the Wave in-game.

The S-T has notes on Tanner Scheppers being shut down, Ben Rowen being called up, and Luis Ortiz signing.
