Texas Rangers first baseman has told the Rangers he plans on having season-ending ankle surgery, per Jeff Wilson:

So that's that. There was a report last week that Moreland might do a different surgery that would require him to just miss three to four weeks, but that's apparently not going to happen now.
And thus, we are going to be rolling with the Brad Snyder/Donnie Murphy platoon for the time being, with Carlos Pena waiting in the wings in AAA.
