2014 Futures Game: Texas Rangers minor leaguers Joey Gallo and Jorge Alfaro have been selected to participate in the 2014 Futures Game. Gallo and Alfaro were both picked to participate in the Futures Game last year, but both missed the game due to injuries.
The Futures Game will take place on July 13, 2014, in Minneapolis as part of the All Star Game festivities. The format of the game provides for a team of American players to play against a "World" team. Gallo will be on the U.S. team, Alfaro on the World team.
Gallo and Alfaro are considered to be two of the Rangers' top prospects, and hopefully, both will stay healthy enough of the rest of the way for them to actually be in the game this year.
