Friday a.m. Rangers stuff

Friday morning Rangers news and links

Cooper Neill

So we had the draft yesterday, where the Rangers picked a couple of players we all liked, and the Rangers won yesterday.  That qualifies as a good day, I think.

Jeff Wilson writes, in his game story, that the Rangers "have to do extraordinary things simply to win games these days."

Fox Sports Southwest has a game story from Keith Whitmire on the Rangers avoiding the sweep yesterday.

The game story on the Rangers' website talks about the team pulling out a rare home victory.

Evan Grant has his post-game report at the DMN Rangers blog.

Richard Durrett has his Rapid Reaction to the Rangers' 8-6 victory yesterday.

Durrett writes that you saw the good and the bad from the Rangers' youngsters yesterday.

Evan Grant writes that, with Robbie Ross, Tanner Scheppers and Joakim Soria all pitching out of the pen in a Ranger victory, it seems like order has been restored to the bullpen.

Ron Washington says that Colby Lewis was great yesterday.

The S-T has a story on the two players the Rangers selected yesterday in the draft.

T.R. Sullivan also has a story on Luis Ortiz and Ti'Quan Forbes, the Rangers' 1st and 2nd round picks yesterday.

Jon Daniels says the Rangers "were really happy" Luis Ortiz was still on the board when they picked at #30, saying the Rangers "expected him to be long gone."

Mike Heika has a story on the draft picks, with quotes from Jon Daniels, who seems very happy with Ortiz and Forbes.

Today is Yu Day, and Durrett asks if Darvish is better than ever.

Drew Davison writes that Alexi Ogando says he has to "feel happy for myself" after getting the results of the MRI on his sore right elbow, as they weren't as bad as they could have been.

Evan Grant asked Ron Washington yesterday about Mitch Moreland hitting third, and Wash went all Gregg Popovich in response.

Sullivan's notes talk about Alexi Ogando being shut down for three weeks, and Tanner Scheppers being activated and returning to the bullpen.
