Texas Rangers news: Aaron Poreda optioned to AAA

The Rangers have optioned Aaron Poreda to AAA

Texas Rangers news:  Aaron Poreda has been optioned to AAA Round Rock, according to Anthony Andro on Twitter.

The Rangers have purchased the contract of Ryan Feierabend from AAA Round Rock, and needed to make a move to open up a spot on the 25 man roster and on the 40 man roster.  Poreda being optioned opens up a spot on the 25 man roster, and the Rangers will likely move someone to the 60 day d.l. to open up a 40 man roster spot.

Poreda has been very streaky this year...he was unscored upon in his first nine outings in the majors this season, then was scored upon in five straight games, had 7 out of 8 outings where he didn't give up a run, and now has allowed runs in his last four outings.  In his last four outings, Poreda has faced 15 batters and retired just 5 of them, allowing a 1744 OPS and a .778 BABIP while allowing 7 runs.
