Texas Rangers rumors: J.P. Arencibia is a Texas Ranger. Again.
Per John Blake on Twitter, the Rangers have purchased the contract of J.P. Arencibia from AAA Round Rock, and have activated Geovany Soto from the disabled list:
Rangers have purchased JP Arencibia from Round Rock and activated Geovany Soto from 60 day DL. Carlos Pena designated for assignment.

The Rangers now have four catchers on their 25 man roster -- Arencibia, Soto, Robinson Chirinos, and Chris Gimenez. Blake says that Arencibia will be playing first base, so that makes Pena expendable.
I am going to just assume that Jon Daniels saw this tweet from earlier today:
Carlos Pena in 2014: .136/.190/.237 in 63 PAs. J.P. Arencibia in 2014: .133/.182/.233 in 66 PAs.

And figured, well, if Pena's not hitting any better than Arencibia, I might as well bring Arencibia back up.
