Texas Rangers rumors: Alex Rios injured, out with ankle sprain

Alex Rios left today's game with a right ankle sprain that has him day-to-day

Texas Rangers rumors:  Outfielder Alex Rios is injured now, spraining his right ankle when he rolled it while swinging at a pitch in the first inning today:

This is potentially significant because Rios is someone the Rangers would be listening to trade offers on in the days leading up to the trade deadline.  If Rios is going to be okay in a few days, that's one thing...but Shin-Soo Choo sprained his ankle earlier this season, and he missed a week and is likely not going to be 100% for the rest of the year.

If this is a lingering issue, it pretty well kills the possibility that the Rangers could move him for any sort of significant return between now and the trade deadline on July 31.  The Rangers could look to put him through waivers and make a post-deadline deal -- which is how they acquired him in the first place -- but this is a blow to the Rangers' effort to shore up their farm system by being sellers over the next two weeks.
