Texas Rangers minor league update: Nomar Mazara and Ryan Cordell are the subjects of a couple of items out there on the interwebs today.
RotoScouting has a scouting report on Nomar Mazara, the Rangers' 19 year old lefty-swinging power prospect who has his OPS up to 801 for low-A Hickory, on the strength of a .297/.396/.547 stretch over his last 55 games, which includes 34 walks against 53 Ks in 250 plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Mazara's teammate, Ryan Cordell, is the subject of a write-up at FanGraphs by Nathaniel Stoltz. Cordell, and 11th round college draft pick of the Rangers in 2013, is the rare toolsy college player who didn't produce much in the college ranks, but appears to be translating those tools into production at the professional level.
