Texas Rangers rumors: Joakim Soria trade reactions -- you want 'em? We got 'em.
Keith Law likes the deal for both teams, saying Jake Thompson slides behind Luke Jackson and Chi Chi Gonzalez on the Rangers' farm system rankings depth chart, while Corey Knebel profiles as a solid setup reliever.
Over at FanGraphs, Dave Cameron says the Tigers "paid through the nose" for a closer they hope will be a difference-maker in October.
The Baseball Prospectus Transaction Analysis describes what the Tigers parted with as a "hefty price" for Soria.
Baseball America has a write-up on the deal, saying that Jake Thompson is now the Rangers' #3 prospect, behind Joey Gallo and Jorge Alfaro.
Here's video of Jim Callis, formerly of BA, now of MLB.com, talking about the deal:
Even Gerry Fraley had something positive to say about this deal:

Overall, the consensus seems to be that the Rangers got a strong return on this deal. Thompson and Knebel may not pan out -- that's just the nature of prospects, especially pitching prospects -- but this appears to be a solid deal for Texas.
