Jerome Williams pitched well enough in his last start that Rangers manager Ron Washington said, afterwards, that Williams deserved another start.
Wash is getting his wish.
With Nick Tepesch continuing to deal with a knee issue, Williams will be taking Tepesch's start on Friday against the Cleveland Indians. Miles Mikolas will start Saturday, and Yu Darvish will start Sunday.
With the Rangers currently carrying just a three man bench, we may see Tepesch go on the d.l. to free up a roster spot and allow the Rangers to add a position player. Of course, given the state of things, there may not be a position player that it makes sense to call up at this point.
