Derek Holland took the ball today for his first official rehab start, and threw two shutout innings for the Frisco Roughriders.
Holland, who is working his way back from January microfracture surgery, struck out 4 and walked 2 in 2 innings, while throwing his fastball in the low-90s. Holland threw 33 pitches -- 21 for strikes. The Frisco Twitter feed approved:

Assuming all is well with Holland's knee over the next couple of days, I'd guess Holland will make another rehab start on August 4, and be on track to return to the majors in the latter part of the month.
